Sports

Over the years we have made a continuous investment into local sports in promote community interaction, increase motivation and general well-being, and open doors to opportunities outside normal village life. We have provided kit, balls, nets, and sponsorship for regional and national match travel for numerous Ifaty rugby teams (young women, men’s senior, boys, and girls) and the adult men’s football team. In addition, we have set up popular weekly volleyball matches between local villages and our international staff and volunteers.

Social Events

Whilst the most important, local communities are not the only stakeholder in the Bay of Ranobe. This region is a popular tourist destination and is therefore home to many hotels and tourist operators who are heavily invested in the area. In order to facilitate interactions among the different stakeholders within the Bay of Ranobe, we have implemented a variety of social events. These have included swimming relay races, pirogue races, and various awareness raising community events which include festivities such as singing and dancing performances. These have proven to be a great way to bring the wider community together and promote a sense of harmony.
