Annica joined us at the end of 2019. She has a Degree and Masters in Biodiversity & Environment. Her previous experience includes providing environmental education to communities around the Tsinjoriaky Protected Area and teaching English to secondary schools. Annica is leading and developing all aspects of our community education programme, which includes Junior Reef Doctors, Kids Club, the Reef Doctor School, and adult education.
Simone de Graaf
Community Waste Management Project Leader

Simone originally joined us in January 2019 as a Research Assistant and Divemaster intern. During her internship she couldn’t ignore the widespread litter issue plaguing the area and decided to do something about it. She devised a fundraiser to generate vital start-up funds to implement the first official waste management program in Ifaty. With 5 years of previous project management experience, she returned to Ifaty in October 2019 to lead this important project.
Bosco
Community Waste Management Project Assistant

Bosco is from Ifaty and has been involved with Reef Doctor fisheries surveys in the village for 5 years. In 2020, he started working on our Community Waste Management Project, he assists with community communications and facilitates surveys amongst a wide range of other tasks involved with the project such as construction.
Claudine Razanajafiarimalala

Claudine joined us at the end of 2019 on an internship whilst working in Ifaty Hospital. She has a Bachelors degree in Nursing. She is helping us increase awareness of health, sanitation and hygiene among schools and villages, as well as birth control methods throughout the bay.
